CBSE Declares Class XII Results: Chennai Tops the Performance Ladder

In latest news in the Indian education sector The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared results of Senior School Certificate Examination 2013 (Class XII) on early Monday. The results for the same are made available on the following websites – www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in . Students can dial-up on these numbers to check their results and performance – 011-24300699, 011-28127030. To facilitate smooth conversation with the students like other years this year too students can also register for SMS alert.

According to the news from the sources over 82 per cent students cleared the 2013 Class XII CBSE examinations, with girls as-usual outshining the boys. While considering the overall performance of States in India Chennai tops the performance ladder beating others in the overall pass percentage.

In all, 8, 15,749 students registered for the Class XII examination this year, which was also an increase of about 5.94% over 2011. Girls continued to fare better than boys with 86.21% clearing the exam as compared to 75.80% boys.

The results this year in particular assumes significance for students who aspire to make it to the IITs as weightage is given for the Class XII performance. Rank holders in the JEE advance under the new format must be among the top 20 performers for admission to the IITs.

Like other years this year too, CBSE has started a 15-day counseling facility for students to help them boost their moral and confidence. This year, 45 principals, trained counselors from CBSE affiliated government and private schools and few psychologists are participating in counseling to address psychological problems of the students.

Students can dial toll free number 1800 118 004 from any part of the country to get centralized access to CBSE helpline. While the general queries will be answered by the operators, students can connect to the principals or counselors in case of result related anxiety or stress.
